Case Study: Crust King - Tough Packaging for a Tough Product

Who They Are

Crust King is on a mission to help people make restaurant-quality pizza at home—without the need for specialist equipment. Their flagship product, the Crust King Baking Steel, transforms a standard oven into a high-performance pizza oven, delivering that perfect crust: crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside.

The business was founded by Luke, who set out to create the ultimate gluten-free pizza for his wife. Along the way, he discovered that great dough isn’t enough—you also need the right cooking surface. The result was the Crust King Baking Steel: a versatile, heavy-duty slab with a world-first non-stick coating that’s free from PTFE, PFOA and PFAS. It’s built for pizza, but works just as well for bread, scones, and cookies too.

The Challenge

Luke needed a packaging solution that could reliably protect each baking steel in transit—without adding excess weight or bulk. With the product’s substantial weight and need for a seamless customer experience, packaging had to be robust, secure, and easy to handle.

Our Solution

We supplied Crust King with our heavy-duty Book Wraps that matched their product’s dimensions and strength requirements. Designed to resist shifting during transit while keeping the product tightly in place, the book wraps offered a simple, cost-effective solution that took the stress out of shipping.

Luke's Feedback

We're really happy with our Bookwrap Mailers—of all those that we tested, The Packaging Club’s were by far the best quality and met all of our needs. Both durable, to ensure the product arrives safely, and also very cost-effective. We’ve been well supported by their team and would be happy to recommend their products for any growing business.
